ICON is James Brearley & Sons' on-line Internet execution-only dealing service. It gives you access to place online trades in nearly all quoted UK stocks, together with a wide range of unit trusts/ OEICs. It is equally possible to place deals in Gilts and a range of Fixed Interest stocks via the Helpdesk.

You will be issued with a unique username & password, which is your responsibility to protect. All messaging is encrypted at a very high level.

Commission on shares & Gilts is just 0.75%, with a minimum of £15, up to a maximum £30 per deal. There is also Stamp Duty of 0.5% on purchases and a PTM levy of £1 on deals over £10,000. On Unit Trust purchases we negotiate a substantial discount for you (usually 4.5%) and charge a commission of 1% with a minimum of £20 and maximum of £100 per deal. Sales are charged at a flat rate of £20.

Click on 'apply on-line' on the left of this page then complete and submit the form. We shall send you a copy of the terms and conditions and a full application form by post. Your account will be opened when you return the form along with an initial deposit of either shares or money to open the account. We shall perform the necessary checks and issue you with your username and password.
