Individual Savings Accounts are a useful way to build up a tax-free pool of investments. With effect from 6th April 2008, it is possible to place up to £7200 a year into a Stocks & Shares ISA. If you have already taken out a Cash ISA which has a maximum subscription of £3,600, then you may still invest the balance in a Stocks & Shares ISA.
The James Brearley & Sons Portfolio ISA is a self-select plan providing our clients with the ability to hold a mix of qualifying shares, fixed interest stocks, Unit Trusts, etc within it. Because of its flexibility it is the only ISA you will need to take advantage of the annual allowance.
It is possible to transfer any existing ISAs you may have to the James Brearley & Sons Portfolio ISA, be it that these are a Cash or Stocks & Shares ISA. In certain instances the ISA Manager may not allow you to transfer your existing investments across into a James Brearley Stocks & Shares ISA.
With effect from 6th April 2008, all James Brearley administered Personal Equity Plans have been converted to ISAs.
